FIRST POST: Getting back to you.

As I’ve already nattered on about in my ‘About Me’ section, there is no specific, fixed content for this blog.

I wouldn’t want to put myself in a certain box straight off then start going on about something completely different cause that wouldn’t be fair on you, nor me.

I’m basically using this blog as an invitation to a little window which peeks into my world, a world that is hopefully not too far from your own…

PASSION is the main theme here. I mean, isn’t that what life is all about? What we spend our very short days chasing? What we daydream about as our head tilts to the left in that John Dorian way?

As this is my first post… (Get to the point, Lisa!) I’m going to discuss something that umbrellas my rainy days…

And that’s the importance of YOU.

Yes, you ARE important.

You are in fact the most important thing in the world.

This is because you are the most original you that has ever existed/will exist…

I am assured you have heard this all before, but stick with me.

This life can be as icky and sticky as the Bog of Eternal Stench at times and it is easy to fall head first into it and forget that you have the power to step out, clean yourself off and swiftly move on…

Of course, the smell of the Bog of Eternal Stench is always there (is this Labyrinth reference doing anything for you?) but it is important to realise that it is not REAL.

You, however, ARE.

Whenever, you feel the negativity seeping in separating you from yourself.

Step away.

Go and do something that makes you, you.

Whether it’s reading a book, listening to your favourite song, sitting back and watching a film that makes you laugh so much it physically aches.

And of course, do NOT forget the important network of people who are there to support you.

Ring them up.
Text them.
Go see them.

A tiny gesture to show you need them and although you may doubt how true this is, you’ll be surprised with the volume of love for YOU that comes roaring in.

The best way, I’ve found, to get rid of negativity is simply to DELETE IT.

Yes, that is as easy as it sounds.

Following an Instagram account that’s putting pressure on you? Making you feel bad about yourself? UNFOLLOW. DELETE IT.

Have a number in your phone of someone who brings you down rather than picks you up? DELETE IT.

‘Friends’ on Facebook that aren’t actually friends? DELETE THEM.

Items that holds bad memories? THROW. THEM. OUT.

Saying negative, judgemental things cause you’re in a bad mood? STOP TALKING FOR A MINUTE.

Your brain is getting the better of you, telling you you’re no good? PHYSICALLY TELL IT TO SHUT UP. (I’m not suggesting this one in a crowded lift… just close your eyes and take a deep breath, physically push those thoughts out of your body)

Let’s call a spade a spade, you’re not feeling great today.

Get away from the screen and start throwing that negativity out right now…

So, hello, nice to meet you. Let me know your tricks to getting yourself back to you in the comments and have an incredible YOU filled day.
